Instructions

Are the notes written an octave too high? No — the bass is a transposing instrument.
Music for the bass is written one octave higher than pitch actually played.

Getting started

  • Click "Settings..." to change the way the drill works — you can control how to show the fingerboard (on its side? upright?), and if sounds will play.
  • Click "Start" to get started.
  • You'll see an empty staff.
  • Click anywhere on the fingerboard (click on the nut for open strings) to see the matching note on the staff.
  • OR... click anywhere on the staff to see the matching fingering(s).
  • When you're done working, click "Stop".
